Jackson--Two from Virginia who moved to Ohio

Although they petitioned to remain in Virginia, Hiram Jackson of Frederick Co. and Nelson Jackson of Fauquier Co. both moved to Ohio. By 1860 Hiram and wife Lucinda lived in Falls, Muskingum, OH; Nelson and wife Eliza in Flushing, Belmont, OH. (See below from list of former slaves who petitioned to remain in VA.)

Jackson, Hiram Frederick County 1850/02/11 Former slave of Henry Jackson asks for permission to remain in the State. 62 84 86

Jackson, Nelson Fauquier County 1844/12/06 Former slave freed by Charles M. Gibson asks for an act allowing him to remain in the Commonwealth. 53 74 68

Thanks, Denise, for posting the list of petitioners.
