Hi Kelly, I did some research on the family of Burrell Perkins whose descendants are thriving to this day in Indiana. Burrell was born about 1817 in TN. He married about 1836 in TN to a widowed woman named Mary Reese. According to the census records Mary was white. Burrell and his family were in Indiana by 1850, appearing in the 1850 census in Washington County, Indiana. Burrell spent most of his life in Randolph County, IN, married two other women after Mary died in 1856 but many of his descendants later migrated to Grant, Vigo, Gibson Wayne and other counties. I believe Burrell probably died between 1892-1900 in Randolph County, IN.
I was curious about a Julius B. Perkins who is found in the 1910 census in Howard County, IN. Is a part of your Perkins family ? Burrell Perkins' youngest son by his 3rd wife was named Julian was born about 1879 in Randolph, IN and I last found him in the 1900 census in Randolph County in the 1900 census.
