Wow, I posted that a long time ago. I still have that particular issue of The Magazine Of Albemarle County History. It is Vol.53 pages 114-139. It has an extensive list of families and households for Albemarle County. Sally Hemings was part of Eston Hemingses household in the 1830 census according to the footnotes in the article.

I too read Gordon-Reed's book. It took me a while because I enjoyed it immensely. I wanted to savior every word. Her reference to Joshua D. Rothman's Notorious in the Neighborhood told me I was reading the correct books.
