Re: The Guillory Family

Hi William:

Here is what I found on Ancestry

New Orleans Passenger Lists, 1820-1945

Emmanuel Guillory

Arrival Date: 20 Jul 1870
Age:50
Gender:Male
Port of Departure: St Marc, Haiti
Ship Name:
Jeannette
Port of Arrival:
New Orleans, Louisiana

National Archives' Series Number:
M259_5

There is a boy aged 6 named "Palimon" But he is not listed close to Emanuel's name. But that could just be the way the ship's captain listed the names.

At the top of the page it describes the group as "Farmers Lousiana"

I found a second page which I didn't see before. More Guillory families with a total of 89 people.

Another listing for Emanuel includes a reference about the Guillory family:

Emmanuel Guillory
Year: 1870
Place: New Orleans, Louisiana

Source Publication Code: 1536
Primary Immigrant: Guillory, Emmanuel
Source Bibliography: DEVILLE, WINSTON. "The Guillorys Arrive from Santo Domingo." In Louisiana Genealogical Register, vol. 28:1 (Mar. 1981), pp. 23, 24, 31.
Page: 23

Good Luck/ Perhaps getting access to Ancestry might help you to find your ancestor's first hand.
