+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ My names is James L Honesty IV, me and my sister were born in Phila, PA but raised in NC. I was told by my father and his mother that the Honesty name has some origins in Winchester, VA. I am aware of some Honesty's that do live in the VA area, and I assume we're related. Please contact me if you have any additional info. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Hello James, I have some information on HONESTY descendants that migrated from VA to Washington County, Ohio. Paul Heinegg's work which can be read here on AfriGeneas references a Hannah Honesty. In addition to the Henry Honesty shown in Paul's work who was born 9 Feb 1801 in Winchester, Frederick, VA and who died 2 Jul 1879 in Barlow Twp., Washington, OH information for another son of Hannah's named Sanford Honesty follows.... Sanford Honesty was born 20 Jul 1806 at Winchester, Frederick, VA and he married a Rosannah McPherson from Morgantown, WV. Sanford died 2 Jul 1871 in Watertown, Washington, OH. Sanford and Rosannah had nine (9) children...George, Ellen Sarah, William Henry, John Sanford, Sarah Euniece, Ann E. "Annie", Emma Elizabeth and Clara Idelia. Geo & Ellen Sarah were born in WV and the others were all born in Washington County, OH. My wife is a great granddaughter of Sanford & Rosannah Honesty. FYI, This branch of the Honesty family has an Honesty Family Reunion, held every year in Zanesville, OH on the 2nd Saturday of July. And they have some excellent genealogists researching the descendants of Hannah and the Honesty surname. If you think you connect, I'm sure they would love to share Honesty family information with you. Art Thomas
