Hi, Rosalyn
I am also searching for information on the family of Fleming and Laura Cousins. One of their daughters, Eveline Matilda Cousins married one of my great grand uncles, James P. Maxwell of Fayette County, Ohio. Their children were Howard A., Joshua, and India. James P. was secretary and treasurer of Wilberforce University and later pastored Quinn Chapel in Chillicothe and a church in Lancaster, Ohio. His death occurred in 1935, some years after Eveline's. At the time of the father's death, Howard Maxwell was a minister in Michigan, Joshua was a teacher in Baltimore, and India was a teacher in Illinois. The obituary also mentions three grandchildren and four great grands. I believe that the grandchildren's names were Howard, Hobart, and Vashti Maxwell. India died in Urbana, Illinois in 1966 and having never married, was buried in Massie's Creek Cemetery near Wilberforce in the same plot as her parents.
Another of my great grand uncles, Campbell Maxwell, married Mary Elizabeth Cousins, the daughter of Edward Cousins. She was also born in Switzerland County, so she was evidently some relation to Fleming and Laura. Mary's death also occured in Xenia. Her children were Earl Maxwell of Detroit and Minnie Maxwell Clemens of Dayton. Earl's son was Richard Maxwell. Do you know of any offspring of any of these people? They would be my third cousins. You may send them my email addy.
