I'm the one Linda's referring to re Simpsons/Thomas'. I'm descended under Hiram and Nancy Simpson. Hiram was Irish/Scottish descent. Nancy was either black or mulatto.

2 of Hiram and Nancy's kids, Charlotte/Charlotta/Lotte and Nancy married Thomas brothers -- Charlotte married Joseph and Nancy married John. They were black and migrated from Maryland.

I don't know Hiram's parents. I have a marriage license for my gg grandfather, Wesley Hiram, and it states that Hiram and Nancy were both from Fayette County, Pa.
