Hi Joy. G.C. Waldrep researched the James Harris family of Patrick County. James was born in Dinwiddie in 1748, lived in Orange Co., N.C., in 1775 and enlisted in the Revolution from there. He was a "mulatto" taxable in Patrick County in 1810. His widow was Keziah Minor (his second wife) who he married in Rockingham Co., N.C., according to his pension file. His children were Agnes, "daugther of James Harris," married Burbage Goin; Alexander married Judith Fendley (Findley); ?Cornelius, ?Tabitha married John Rickman; ?Martha married in 1821 to Shadrack Beasley in Surry Co., N.C.; ?Nancy married Calm/ Cain Loggins; ?Robert married Nancy Goins; ?Polly married in Surry County, N.C. to Arthur Going; ?Nancy married in 1821 to David Goen. His children by his second marriage may have been Nancy m. David Goen; Benjamin m. Catherine Beasley in Surry Co.; Polly m. to John Rickman, James Harris surety; Milly listed with her mother in the 1850 census; Serena, listed in 1840 census; ?Richard "mulatto" laborer living with Keziah in 1850.
