Wow, this is the first I've heard of the gypsy thing! I always assumed I was looking for a white female indentured servant or a black woman at the end of my mitochondrial trail of FPOC. mt DNA testing tells me she was black. There is a family story of a Native American, and he even came with a name; 'Running Water', but I have not been able to find him, despite the insistence of his existence by my family. He may yet exist, but he doesn't get added to the family story until I find him!
