Art, thanks for sharing these most interesting records. Goochland is in the territory of the Sioux speakers who were collectively called the Saponi after the founding of Fort Christiana. There is no record of Algonquin speakers living west of the fall line. This was never Pamunkey territory. An interesting possibility is the Appamattux Tribe, who lived at present day Petersburg. Survivors of the Appamattux Tribe are no longer organized but are now known as Blackfoot Indians. Those that are now white call themselves Redfoot Indians. Messages In This Thread
