() Tecchnically in her 19th century Louisiana Mother Henriette Delille would have been considered an "Octoroon". Octoroon means a person of fourth-generation black ancestry. Genetically, it means one-eighth black. Typically an Octoroon has one great-grandparent who is of full African descent. Her mother would have been considered a "Quadroon".
