well Driggus or Rodriguez is described as being a "negro". It is possible that he might of came from Angola Or he might have been a Portuguese/Spanish Creole. I say this because of his latin name and his color description. But there is nothing suggesting he was from Angola. You are right about that. But I think its a possibility considering that it was common for Spanish/Portuguese slavers to be attacked by pirates from Dutch ships. Its kind of hard to say.
