No Linda, I have not found reference to Gypsy ancestry in the Broken Hills of Northern Virginia. The closest I have heard was in relation to Thomas Jefferson at Charlottsville.

This ancestry was very late in coming to your Hertford group and did not appear to shape your culture in any way. Genealogy clearly traces the Gypsy strain from Virginia west of the fall line to the peidmont of North & South Carolina. The families from Hertford that comprised Malungeon Town of Tennessee incorporated Gypsy ancestry from South Carolina, not from Hertford County, NC.
