Fifi Island - Augustin dit Fifi Guillory Grand Isle is site of celebration for project to rebuild Fifi Island New Orleans CityBusiness, Mar 8, 2004 by Staff
dit Fifi - also known as Fifi Joséph (fils) Pierre Grégoire Guillory was born French Mobile, Fort Toulouse, Alabama. His father was born on Massacre Island, now Dauphin Island. Joséph (fils) Pierre Grégoire Guillory migrated to St. Landry Parish, probably stoping at Fifi Island, were Augustin dit Fifi was born. I am thinking Fifi Island is why Augustin Guillory used Fifi, meaning from Fifi Island.
