Hi, I am searching for info on a free Mullato man Burwell Jacobs, he was born in South Carolina around 1801 and moved to Madison Alabama where he owned 81.5 area which was signed by President James Buchanan prior to the Civil War. He married Betsy Jacobs On Dec, 19, 1879 I am searching for his father and mother, I know that he was in Madison Alabama by the 1820 census. Other's listed in same area i found were, Frank Jacobs who with dates of birth could have been cousin or brother his father was Elliot Jacobs I was able to find him however not theone i need, and neighbors John Simpson. Also found out from another reseacher that the area in which they owned land is now called redstone arsenal. If any one has Burwell Jacobs will, or any other info I would apprecaite any help..
