I know my fourth great grandfather was residing within Columbiana County Ohio between the dates of 1830-1850. Also, Clotel was first published in 1853. I have attempted to make contact with the Columbiana County Archives but have not received a response. I will attempt to contact the library and court directly. I do know that the court of common pleas in Columbiana County Ohio have records prior to 1996 on site.
