hi, that is some interesting history. I also am a descendent of the Guillory and Donato Clan through Marie Louise Guillory, the daughter of Jean Baptiste Guillory pere & Catherine Donato Bello.. and speaking of Nicholas "LaRouille" Simon, while perusing the colonial records of the Opelousas post, I found a record documenting that "Larouille" was in a race with a Frenchman of the area(dont know whether or not it was a foot or horse race. I read somewhere that horse and foot races were popular in Opelousas during that time). I also saw "LaRouille" on a militia list from 1779 for the Opelousas Post.
