"In 1850, the family was in Highland County, Ohio. By 1860, John was gone (dead?). Virginia and the younger children were living in Clinton County. I wondered if any of the children had moved up to Logan County before many moved to the Weaver Settlement in Grant County, Indiana.
Are you familiar with any of these folks?"
While not familiar with this particular family I did a search on the LDS Pilot Lab site for Ohio Death Certificates from 1908-1953.
Using the "More" option and Death event I searched Ohio, United States using only the mother's maiden name of PARTHENIA STEWART and came up with 2 DC's for sons she had with her husband, Reuben Corbin, sons were Sherman & Bruce Corbin.
The DC's are viewable & printable, for FREE @ http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html?datestamp=1201793040912#p=0
The family was living in Butler County, Ohio at the time of death for the sons. Butler County is on the Indiana State line so the migration pattern of other family members to Grant County, IN is quite possible.
You could try different combinations of names (given &/or last) for... inidividual, parents, etc. and I'm sure you will come up with more members of this family.
Hope this helps,
