Re: Meuillon / Cheval?
In Response To: Re: Meuillon / Cheval? ()
Chevalier was a title. Not Cheval, and even if it were, "Francois" is not. Seriously, Francois Cheval is a wholly different man from Meullion. Cheval's history and his relatives can all clearly be traced in terms of sibling and parents. They are who;;y differnt from Meullions. Cheval appears in numerous records of the Superior Counsel as a discreet individual. If memory serves, the records show that at the time of Jean Baptiste's birth, Cheval was an overseer on a plantation close to Meullion's property - the De La Chaise plantation, the very plantation from which Meullion purchased Angelica - the slave with whom Jean Baptiste Meullion first had children. While I respect what you propose it has zero chance of reflecting reality. The more interesting question is whether anyone who believes otherwise can post any original document supporting the Meullion as father theory. I don't believe they can since people are relying not on research of original records, but instead on an online and erroneous summary of the so-called Meullion papers (which they have never read).
