My brother contacted you in about 2002. I found some entries with his name Julius Ellis. The grandfather in question, Zebedee Cousins was the son of Charles Cousins and Francis Bass. I think Zebedee Cousins was born in Switzerland County, Indiana. I have actually visited the area and researched some documents at the court house there. I left with several unanswered questions. I could not find my grandfather's birth certificate (Zebedee Cousins), where his grandfather Fleming Cousins was actually from in Virginia, and who is Eliza Barrett. She left Fleming Cousins property in her will. Eliza was a very rich woman, even though, Fleming and Laura Cousins had money of their own. I don't understand the connection. Was she a relative? Also, one of the witnesses of her will might have been a relative on my father's side. His name was George Ellis, but we'll talk about him later.
