Re: Walden/Goins Families in North Carolina

Thanks Helena. I heard from Janie today, she says they are closing their books but they are so deep in the hole. She wanted to pay for me to come to their reunion, but I told her I did not want her to do that and then I am not feeling well enough to come to Miami. Girl I asked God to forgive me. Part of the reason they are not getting the response is that they want you to stay at the embassy even if you live as close as I do, plus everything is so expensive and the economy is not allowing people to spend that kind of money. Their letters were on expensive paper. I am not interested in going to Miami and seeing the same old people who half are only Rosewood families, not relatives. I need to find my people. My brother got a picture of my dad when he was about 21 and he says he looks so much like grandma. I also foundout Sophie was married to a man by the name of Odos Locklear in Levy County FL in the year 1900. I thought she was married to John Monroe before they left NC. John was from NC. I wonder if he came down with Uncle Eli. Not only that I do not see a marriage document for her and John. Now I really have to go to Levy county courthouse. Aunt Marie was 18 in 1923 and she was the oldest child of the 5 kids.
