Leamond, Was your Doc Pettiford born in or about January, 1887? If so, his parents were probably William Pettiford and Martha Peppers of Franklin & Nash Counties, NC. Do you know whether Doc had brothers named Cleveland and William? If Doc's wife Frances died in Nash County on 2 July, 1934, then her parents were John Mills and Sallie Richardson. William Pettiford (husband of Martha Peppers) and my great-grandfather were first cousins. Robert Jackson : I am researching the early heritage of my family. : Local county area of focus: Southern Nash County : Local town of research : Spring Hope (in Mannings : Township) in Eastern North Carolina : Searching this family heritage: My father was named Leamond Onnie

Her mother was Geneva : Hedgepeth Pettiford.
