Hi, yes, the Tosspot family did migrate to these various states. I am writing something for publication on the family, and will post that here when it's finished, complete with citations for the sources I've been collecting for a year or two. I will be sending the original documents I've gathered to the local history people in Winchester. Timothy Tosspot and his wife Sarah lived in Winchester until their death, c. 1830s, and their sons moved to OH, PA and NY. Sarah Tosspot was Sarah Dickson, she and her father were among the first group of slaves emancipated by Robert "King" Carter. Timothy Tosspot, one of their sons, lived in Buffalo, ran a boarding house, died in the late 1860s. The Tosspots intermarried in Buffalo with the Jackson family originating from Pennsylvania. The last Tosspot in Buffalo I've been able to identify died in the 1890s, married name Jackson. STRANGE, it seems that this has variations: Strang, Strong.
