If you still have information re: FPOC Tosspot family, I'd be interested to see it. I've slowly realized while tracing African-American Strange surname that Tosspot & Strange families were neighbors in Winchester, VA; also in Cincinnati, OH; & both families also migrated to PA. Do you know if the Tosspot name was a joke or a misspelled version of something else? It appears that this surname is associated with one extended African-American family that migrated from VA to NY, OH, PA, & KY.
