Does anyone out there have any info on these Willards. They were free persons of color in the 1840 (New Braintree)and 1850 (Warren)census.
In the 1850 census Luke(50 yrs)and Nilley Willard have children Elizabeth, Alonzo, and Albert. I'm thinking that in 1852, Laura E. was born to them. There were many black families in this area at the time. Unfortunately, the town recs aren't listing the births. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
