The Winston Family of Hanover County, Va.

Researching to find out who manumitted The Winston Family of Hanover County, Virginia.
Our ancestors Jacob Winston, Dabney Winston (born circa 1796) and other free African Americans of the same surname appear on various early US Federal Census (1810~Onward) as well asa Tax Rolls recording them as residing on the land of Thomas Harris B.C. (not sure what that B.C. suffix means).
The was a prominant Quaker~Abolishonist presence within the Henrico County, Richmond area, as well as that of Cedar Creek Meeting House located in Hanover County, Virginia.
Some surnamed Quaker~Abolishonists within this area were Pleasants, Bell, Harris, Ladd, Clarke, Parsons, Chiles, Winston (those of the Anthony>Nathaniel>George Winston line), etc.
Whether it was a Quaker Winston, Pleasants, Harris or whomever (may have been Mayo) freed these African American ancestors of ours is the question?
Thank You.
