In my case, no oral family history. Researchers, historians, and most importantly, Court Documents, are my sources. I am not 100% sure and may never be that sure and if not, as I and others believe, all is still ok. At least we know as much as we do.
I have seen the photo of an ancestor of a Hughes that once disucssed DNA. He looks more like me than him. It is a remote possibility this man and I may not match. But not necessarily because I am not a Hughes. Possible! So far, I have not found the Mughes family of my quest in DNA listings. I will get tested and I might match a Hughes somewhere.
