i have a cousin in-law her father she said was a godett from north carolina, she said he had owned a farm, she is about 77 years old, in researching godett she and other godetts, found godetts in canada, they spead out into america, and they said that they owned land in different states. on one of these forums a godett from europe posted, he said his godette relatives originated from the west indies and owned a lot of land, and they went to europe, also godett has variations in spelling, all of these godettes claim that they are a tribe and that they are all related to each other, i think i heard there were godettes also in virginia.
