I am searching for information on Lawson Goens, b. abt. 1807, married Sarah A. Hart, abt. 1829/30. Lawson was born in VA and lived most of his life in Jefferson County passing July 12 1874. Lawson was a ferryman for Shanndale Springs resort for 30 yrs according to his obit in the Jefferson Co. Newspaper. I can document Lawson for 1838 via court record, 1850 and 1860 fed census. I do not know where he is buried. Other surnames linked to Goens are Roper, Fox, Hart and Marsh. Any info would be appreciated. Shelley
