No - I'm just tracing the history of two particular families as they migrated with the frontier. Their story illustrates, among other things, the complexity of relationships among (self-identified) white people, slaves, and free people of color over two centuries. Also the way each new frontier changed as civilization caught up with it. Hopefully there is a book at the end of the trail that someone will want to read - these years of obsession must be good for something!
