A fellow by the name of Jon Fitch is writing a thesis on the involvement of the Artis and Haithcock families in Nat Turner's Rebellion. He copied the tax lists which have not been photocopied for the Artis, Day, Haithcock and Newsom families (1801-1826) as well as a complete list of all "free Negroes" in St. Luke's Parish in 1822 (with wives, children, occupations and locations) from the loose papers at the Library of Virginia.
