Glad to hear from you. As you know, I have been working on the Bruce geneaology for a long time. I know all the people you are talking about. I met with James Dillard's daughter a few months ago. She attends Holy Cross Church where my best friend goes, and I had been seeing her for years and didn't know who she was until we were finally introduced. I spent two days at the National Archives research Civil War soldiers over the Easter Break and then spent the day at the Library of Virginia in Richmond. Like you said, you need about a month just to make any kind of progress at the Library of Virginia. We are gearing up for the Black History Conference that will be here next week from April 3-5. Check the PHMC website for details. Tony Burroughs is coming in and will be spending an extra week after the Conference to do research on his Fayette County ancestors. By the way, he is related to the Bruce's from Farrell, Pa, who descend from the Bruce's from Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania who descend from the Hardy County Bruce's on his Phillips line. There is a register of blacks in Loudon County at the Library of Virginia. I didn't get a chance to go through it because I ran out of time. Are you aware of it?
