I just did an Ancestry by DNA and am waiting on the results anxiously. As a fellow Chavis descendant, I am curious to know what your results were. Some historical accounts say that the Chavises were Black and White, no know native ancestry.

Be careful in the interpetation of your admixture results as they relate to you.
Attaching a particular ancestry to a Surname from Y or mtDNA ancestry to the admixture test may be hazardous

Many of my maternal Adams relatives swear we have a "strong" Native American history. I've traced my DIRECT Adams lines back to 1768 and can't find a concrete NA connection. I have found POSSIBLE NA connections in some of my other ancestral lines, but nothing in my Y or mtDNA or Thomas surnamed relations.

My Y and mtDNA results lead to Euro haplogroups (I1a-Norse & H3), my Admixture says 49% Euro, 48% SS African & 3% NA.
