Re: Rachael Mann (c. 1780-1880) of VA & DC

Below is the information I've found for Rachael Mann. I'm not certain however, that all of these records refer to the same woman. Although Rev. J.F. Cook's mother-in-law Rachael Mann was born in VA, it's possible that the VA records I've found refer to a different woman. Rachael Mann and David Strange are said to be parents of Reuben R. Strange (c. 1815-1889), a VA-born resident of OH and Civil War veteran of the Union army and navy. Reuben's birthplace was Bath County, VA. His father, David Strange, could be a free person of color from Frederick County, VA.
