Re: Franky Miles and Nathaniel Harrison
In Response To: Franky Miles and Nathaniel Harrison ()
Hi, I just saw this thread. My husband is descended from Harrisons. His 3rd greatgrandfather was John Harrison born 1797 who married Sarah. I found information on a John and Sarah who were slaves of the Harrison family back in 1996. This information was on the Ogborne/Osborne-Harrison webpage. At the time I thought these were my husband's folks. I corresponded with a gentleman from England who told me the family had proven who the descendants of this family was and they carried the Ogborne/Osborne surname not the Harrison surname. Were the slaves, John and Sarah your family? The Harrisons that I am looking for were in Charlotte Co in 1870, Mecklenburg Co. in 1880 and Southampton Co. on 1900. I am sure they were mulatto because I have 2 marriage certificates for William Harrison. 1 lists him and his wife, Sallie Moore as white and 1 as black. I have never looked in Amelia county for the family prior to 1870. John Harrison was born around 1797 and his wife, Sarah was born around 1810. Some of their children were:
Children of William were:
Members of this family married into the Boon, Parker, Howell, Milteer, Rhodes, Williams, and Bowers families. Children of Robert were:
I also have some Harrisons and Milies in my family from Charles City Co., VA Does any of this sound familiar? Linda
