Hi Gwen, Either I misstated my logic or you misunderstood what I was trying to say. I know that as a sum his parents might have had more than 14% NA genes, but not knowing if only his paternal line or his maternal lines was the contributor, I just did the easiest thing which was to consider he might have received 7% of his NA genes from each parent. I probably didn't say that right either. There is a possibility that his grandmother was 100% NA which means his siblings might have a higher percentage than he does. I think all the family wanted to know was if their paternal line oral history was correct.
In the case of my mom and me, she has 15% East Asian and I have 7%. I very much doubt that any of that came from my father's family.
