Paul, this is one of many brick walls on my wife's side. Daniel Mayhew, Sr. was born around 1800 in North Carolina. I first find him enumerated on the 1825 Illinois state census in the Shoal Creek township of Clinton County. He is enumerated on the 1830; 1840; 1850; and 1860 censuses for Clinton County, IL. He died circa 1862 in Clinton County.
I've also looked at your information on Mayo, however I haven't been able to make a connection. I'm also viewing your info on Thomas Mayhew-India and I don't. I will however continue to explore this.
I'm also exploring the naming patterns for Daniel's children. I see name repetition from the Curtis side, (Daniel's wife Elizabeth Curtis) however the remaining children. . . . hmmmm, unknown at this time.
