I just found this while researching the inventories for Prince George's County [Prerogatory Inventories 1727-1729 (SR 4332-1), pages 307-311, Inventory of the Honorable Thomas Addison, Esq., 10 August 1727...At the Great House (list of slaves) 1 Indian man named Tom -- 32 pounds ... Elinor Addison widow Tom Mayhew, an East Indian, sued Eleanor Addison for his freedom, saying he was baptized in England and imported into Maryland with his mother under indenture.
