Interesting. How did you make the connection that the Ned Griffin who was owned by William Kitchen was the same Ned Griffin who was living in 1810 in Pasquotank County, NC. Was he related to the Sam Griffin who was listed in Pasquotank County, NC in 1810 who was over a household of 19 other free persons of color. Paul Heinegg's website stated that the Ned and Sam Griffin in Pasquotank County were or were possibly the children of a woman named Jemima Griffin (white woman?). Any answers?
