Sorry, Art. I misunderstood your question. I don't suppose there is any way we can know what went through the slaveowner's mind. There were some counties which had a fair number of Indian slaves which had been captured as children during the Indian wars about 1680-1715, so perhaps the slave owner did not think it anything special to have mixed African/ Indian slaves.
