I have checked this out and there is no connection. Also you can check the census for New Kent County starting with 1850. Marinda Brisby is listed as Mulatto, this was common practice, including for NA, in Virginia. My grandmother was Nancy Brisby and her father was Wiliam Henry Brisby, all from New Kent County.
