Re: WEAVER FAMILY-- East Indian ancestry
In Response To: WEAVER FAMILY-- East Indian ancestry ()
I wonder if this family might be related to Hannah A. Weaver (b. 1841) who married AME minister Jacklin Strange (1836-1922) of Winchester, VA. Hannah's parents are William and Leticia "Letty" Weaver of Alexandria, VA. Jacklin may be related to Reuben Strange who was freed in Winchester, VA in 1817. As pastor or presiding elder, Rev. Jacklin Strange was associated with several churches in Virginia and Maryland (Alexandria, Baltimore, Danville, Drummondtown, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Richmond, Roanoke, Smithfield, Staunton, Wytheville). He also served as a trustee of Wilberforce University. Rev. Strange opened an account at the Freedman's Bank for his son, also named Jacklin Strange. Messages In This Thread
