Came across this transcription of a will for Andrew Smith in Baltimore County, Maryland, freeing his "Negroe children at age thirty years." Lists Nicholas, b. Feb 10, 1805, John, b.Sept 19 1807, Mariah b. June 19, 1809, and Alvirah b. April 2, 1810. Andrew's son Thomas SMith was executor. Hope this helps someone--not actually the correct Smith family for me in that area, so I don't know any more. The page doesn't say if Thomas actually followed through on his father's directive.
