POTTS, James, 1811 & wife Rachel, Chester PA
Hi folks, The 1850 census for Chester shows the family of James and Rachel POTTS - I having a problem reading the fine print on the census record - but it looks like he was born Del. county PA 1811, and his wife Rachel born Chester county PA, abt 1809. This is a new line for me - sorry I don't have much more than this. Their children are: Jane 8 (1841-1912) Jese 7 (1843-) Susan 6 (1844-) Leticia 5 (1845-) Mary 3 (1847-) James 2 (1848-) Amy 5 months (1850-)
Jane POTTS married Richard Williams: Children: Thomas (1859-) Mary Belle (1860-1927) Follest G. (1869-) Harry (1870-) Franklin (1872-) James P. (1873-) Susie R. (1877-) Isaiah L. (1879-) Louis Smith (1881-) Fanny Am interested in any information about the POTTS families in Chester. I notice that there is a slaveholding family in the 1790 register - POTTS, Thomas, Coventry who owned 6 slaves and wonder if there is a connection. Would love to hear from other Chester county researchers. Thanks, Denise
