I was looking and I found Griffins of col going back to 1840 in Pasquotank. there is a Freeman's bank records for a Jacob Griffin. He lists his father as Moses Trueblood and mother as Nancy Griffin. Jacob's wife was Elizabeth. and his brothers are John, Isaac, Solomon, Jashua, Caleb, abel and Thomas. Sisters are Jacca--next to her name it has (Cary Spence) and Marsha ann.

I have the same thing with my Spence line. We have Spence in Pasquotank and Camden and I've always been told we were related...but it seems like no one can figure out how!!! very frustrating.
