I just discovered a possible connection to Longtown. The 1920 census lists a William F. Jones (born around 1868)whowas a minister in Paulding County, Ohio. By the 1930 census, he was living in Liberty Township, Darke County and his occupation is listed as a farmer. His wife was Grace Jones; their children were William F., Jr.(1916), Iva (1919), and Catherine/Katherine)(1928). William Sr. was my grandmother's first cousin. Were there other African-American settlements in Liberty Township besides Longtown? Also, as William was also a minister, do you know what churches existed in the Libery Township area around that time period?

A friend of mine is also interested in Darke County, as her grandmother was a Chavis and grew up in the area. I'm trying to get her to attend some meetings of AAGGMV.
