Any ties to the Lee family of Charleston SC? This line originated in Charleston ca. 1750 with the emigration of two (freeman) brothers from Barbados. Common family names are William, Arthur, Norman. Census records show family members in Goose Creek ( Charleston area) in the early 1800s. Two brothers left there to settle in western VA or MD in mid 1800's, founded a pickle factory which they later sold to a German family named Heinz in western PA. All info ceases for these brothers by late 1800's.
Together with the Jones family ( married daughter), the Lee's ran a hotel in Charleston SC, a room of which was purchased by the DuPonts and is displayed at Winterthur in Wilmington DE.
Potential ties to Lee family of England that sent members to Barbados and colonial VA ( possible link to Gen. Robert E. Lee?) in colonial times.
Anything here ring a bell?
