I believe the Fulani people, who my mtDNA matches, are said to be of Arab and Berber descent because of their physical features. However, I have read other accounts pertaining to their origins as well.

You expressed what I was speculating...that probably the "mulatto" children born to African women and European slave traders did not constitute a significant number among the nearly one million Africans forcibly transported into America.

Let's say it's 1757, in a small, peaceful village five hundred miles into the interior of southern Nigeria inhabited by the Ibibio people that's getting ready to be raided for enslavement into the transatlantic slave trade, how many of the villagers would be of both African and European descent??
