I noticed David and Allen (both age 16-45) Copeland in the 1815 tax list for Nansemond as well as Joseph Copeland in Southampton in 1813, several Copelands in Isle of Wight and an Exum Copeland registered in Norfolk County in 1811. Daniel was head of a household of 7 in Hertford and Martha Copeland head of a household in Halifax County of 2 "free colored" in 1830.
