To Paul Heinegg

I am looking to find my 3rd g-grandmother, Emily (A.) White.
The only records I have are a marriage (to Andrew J. Dorn) record from 1845 in St. Louis MO, and one federal census showing her in 1870, still with Andrew.
In 1870 they were living in Bonham, Texas in a Black neighborhood, tho they were listed as *white*..There was only one other *white* family in the whole neighborhood. There was a Mulatto man living with them named James Hutchison, and a white woman named Henrietta Mantle also living with them.
Their son Tom, my gg-grandfather, was not in the household at that time, and I do not find him until 1900 in the Chickasaw Nation (Oklahoma)with my gg-grandmother Amanda and some of their children.
In 1910, I find Amanda in Texas with the kids, but no Tom..Family knowledge is that he had left and come back to Oklahoma.
In 1920 Federal census, I find one Tom Dorn of the right age in Oklahoma, and he has a wife, Hattie. Both are listed as Black, and they are in a Black neighborhood.
I have seen a picture of Tom Dorn, and he was dark skinned..I believe his mother, Emily White was also dark skinned because his father Andrew looked white in the one picture I have of him..tho that doesn't mean much because he had a face full of hair and it was a really old pic..
Emily was born in VA about 1829..I tried looking for her in 1840, and do not find her anywhere so far..
Any help or direction you could give me will be greatly appreciated..
